Part Three (Instructional Ability)

You will by now have proved that you have the knowledge and driving skills by passing your Part One and Part Two tests, all you have to do now, is show that you can teach others your new skills.

The Part Three test requires the candidate to give two 30 minute lessons to a DSA examiner from two pre-set subjects. The examiner will role-play two different pupils and make mistakes & ask questions on purpose to test your response and remedial action.  The examiner will also expect you to brief him on the objectives of the lesson.

We offer 40 hours (minimum) one to one in car training with a FIVESTAR ORDIT Registered Instructor Trainer.  (40 hours is the statutory number of hours required by the DSA to be signed off by your trainer prior to a part three test).  *Extra hours training may be required for a candidate to reach an acceptable standard.

You will only be allowed 3 attempts at your part 3 test.

You have two years from the date you pass your part one test to take and pass your part three examination.

*At this point it is possible to to take up the option of a six month trainee licence which allows you to teach for six months whilst continuing your training towards the part three examination.  If you you decide to take this rout a further 20 hours of tuition is required within the first three months of your licence.
